  • Which breeds do you specialize in?
We specialize only in Dachshunds. This breed is very special to us. We love that they are both smart and stubborn. It's just like having children! You are never alone when you have a Dachshund. Originating in Germany as hunting dogs, Dachshunds are the most loyal, loving breed of dog! In the past, we bred short-haired Dachshunds. Starting in 2026, we will offer long-haired Dachshunds exclusively.
  • Where are you located?
Bennett, North Carolina, USA. We are just a 1-hour drive from Raleigh, NC. If you live a long distance away, we can unite you with your new puppy at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. We offer a Flight Nanny Service, in which a trusted professional transports your new puppy in a carrier to their seat on the plane. You meet them at your local airport for a reasonable fee.
  • Are your dogs registered?
Our sires and dams are registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC). We do not typically grant breeding rights. However, we may grant them under specific circumstances.
  • Do you allow visits to meet the puppies?
We understand that meeting the puppies before adoption is important to many families. However, we prioritize the health and safety of our puppies above all else. Here’s why we have this policy: 1. Risk of Disease Transmission Puppies are highly vulnerable to diseases, especially parvovirus (parvo), which is extremely contagious and can be fatal. Even if visitors don’t show symptoms, they could unknowingly carry the virus on their shoes, clothes, or hands, putting the puppies at great risk. 2. Vaccination Status Our puppies are not fully vaccinated until they are older. Before this, their immune systems are still developing, making them more susceptible to illnesses that could be introduced by visitors. 3. Protecting the Entire Litter While one puppy may appear healthy, diseases can spread quickly through the entire litter. Limiting contact with outside individuals helps ensure the health and safety of all the puppies in our care. 4. Stress Management Puppies are in a critical developmental stage, and too many visitors can cause unnecessary stress. This stress can impact their health and socialization. We know this policy may be disappointing, but it’s in place to give every puppy the best start in life. Rest assured, we provide regular updates, photos, and videos so you can watch your puppy grow and feel connected during the process.
  • At what age can I take my puppy home?
Puppies are ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks old to ensure proper development and socialization. You can pick your puppy up after it is at least 8 weeks old. We will hold your puppy for you, so long as you have made your deposit and discussed your pickup date with us.
  • Which vaccinations and health checks do the puppies receive?
All puppies receive their first round of vaccinations at 7 weeks old. At this time, they undergo a thorough health check by a licensed veterinarian and receive a microchip. They are dewormed at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, and 8 weeks old.
  • Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes, we offer a one-year health guarantee that covers genetic conditions. Details are outlined in our contract.
  • What food should I feed my puppy?
We recommend Life's Abundance wet and dry food. When you pick up your puppy, you will receive a puppy bag. The puppy bag includes plenty of food to get started, a harness, a leash, a toy, a water bottle, and a cute outfit. • Are the puppies socialized before going to their new homes?
Yes, our puppies are raised in a loving environment and exposed to various people, sounds, and experiences to ensure proper socialization.
  • Can I meet the puppy’s parents?
Yes, you can expect to meet the puppy’s parents when you pick up your new puppy, which will be at least 8 weeks old. Meeting the parents is an important part of the process for several reasons: 1. Understanding Temperament Meeting the parents gives you an opportunity to see their behavior and temperament, which can provide insight into your puppy’s potential personality traits. 2. Health and Appearance You’ll be able to observe the physical condition of the parents, which reflects the care they’ve received and their overall health. This can also give you an idea of how your puppy might look as they grow. 3. Transparency We believe in being open and transparent about our breeding practices. Allowing you to meet the parents reassures you that our dogs are well-cared for and raised in a loving, sanitary, and safe environment. However, please note that the meeting will be brief and carefully managed to ensure the comfort and safety of both the parents and the puppies. We do not allow site visits or meetings with the dogs prior to pickup time, due to health and logistical reasons.
  • Are the parents health tested?
Absolutely. All our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health exams and Embark genetic testing.
  • Do you offer support after adoption?
Yes, we’re here to support you throughout your puppy’s life. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. We love seeing photos of the dogs as they grow and thrive over time! Please post photos on our social media pages or send them to us! Facebook Instagram TikTok
  • What happens if I can no longer care for my dog?
Please reach out if you can no longer care for your dog. We can help find a new home for your cherished Dachshund.
  • Do you offer spay/neuter contracts?
Yes, we require all puppies to be spayed or neutered by 12 months of age, unless otherwise agreed upon. Dachshunds generally need to be fixed at around 1 year old, after they finish growing. Normally, our contract does not allow breeding. In rare cases, we offer breeding rights.
  • How do you ensure ethical breeding practices?
We follow strict guidelines to ensure the health and well-being of our dogs, including limited litters, health testing, and proper care. They are kept in clean and sanitary conditions. Our dogs have free access to fresh air and sunshine in a large fenced yard. Our dams typically have four litters. Then, they are retired and live as beloved pets in a family's home.
